The assignment includes stakeholder engagement and consultations, conducting biodiversity gap analyses, gender assessments, policy alignment reviews, and biodiversity mainstreaming across key sectors while identifying financing, capacity, and implementation gaps. The contractor will also assess linkages with climate, sustainable development, and multilateral environmental agreement commitments, and develop recommendations to strengthen biodiversity conservation and sustainable use. Based on these analyses, the firm will prepare draft and final NBSAP reports, including implementation priorities, spatial planning considerations, capacity development needs, risk assessments, and actionable measures to support achievement of Jamaica’s national biodiversity targets. The assignment will culminate in stakeholder validation of findings and submission of a finalized NBSAP that reflects national priorities and fulfills Jamaica’s obligations under the Convention on Biological Diversity.
